Maasai Boma

Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge is built to blend into the natural environment dominated by acacia trees with a clear view of Lake Ndutu. All natural vegetation is preserved and the wildlife has a natural undisturbed stroll to the site. This is an eco-friendly lodge with solar power as the source of electricity, supported by two standby generators and invertors. The Lodge is some 5 kilometers (15 minutes drive) from Ndutu airstrip, and about 300 Kilometers or 5 hours drive / 1 hour by flight from Arusha town. Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge is conveniently situated close to the prime game viewing areas of Seronera in Central Serengeti about 80kms to the northwest and the world famous Ngorongoro Crater 90kms to the east.

Walking Safari

This walk is designed to fit into your safari schedule, and can be in the morning or late afternoon when tropical temperatures are cool. A short walk in Ndutu around the lodge, accompanied by guides and a ranger is an excellent break from game drives, where you will learn some fascinating facts about nature, birds, reptiles, insects and medicinal uses of plants which you may not fully appreciate from the seat of your safari car. The walk takes an hour and a half to two hours; longer walks can be arranged.

Game Drive

Lake Ndutu area is famous for its off-track game drives, allowing visitors to get closer to the wildlife unlike in most other park locations. Game drives are conducted by our highly qualified safari driver-guides with a lot of experience, gained from years of working in the area and beyond.

Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge is offering game package services for visitors flying into Ndutu and wishing to use lodge safari vehicles for transfers and game drives during their stay. This has been particularly popular for those with longer stays in Lake Ndutu to view the migration and enjoy the many activities offered at the lodge.

The specially designed safari vehicle is open on the sides (rolled-up canvas) to maximize game viewing and photography, with a high canvas roof for sunshade, and 6 individual bucket seats arranged in a 3-level theatre style seating for optimal unobstructed viewing.

Bush Meal

Bush meals are a real restaurant set-up in the wilderness with chairs, tables, table cloth, porcelain, glassware, silver cutlery, a chef overseeing live cooking and waiters. The private bush meal site is carefully appointed to provide an environment of exclusivity and bring guests closer to nature in fresh air.

A Sundowner

Ndutu sunsets are beautiful, and we love sharing this unique African bush experience with our guests over a sundowner. The drive to the sundowner site normally starts from the lodge at 6pm or earlier arriving in time for the brief moment of the sun setting over a low hill on the horizon, leaving behind colourful displays of red, gold, orange, crimson…that lingers long after the actual disappearance of the sun.

The sundowner site is carefully chosen, offering uninterrupted wide views of the sunset. The sundowner table, laid under a huge umbrella acacia tree, will have a choice of drinks, dry snacks and canapes for the guests to pick, and there will be chairs for those who would choose to sit.

The serene, natural sundowner setting and the contrasting sunset colors is an experience that will stay in your memory for a long time to come.
